The Czech Republic (Aktuálně.cz): Contemporary Art in a Baroque Palace. Another Edition of the Art Prague Fair Has Begun

2023-10 October 2023 More than thirty Czech and international galleries are participating in the Art Prague contemporary art fair, which opened this Monday at Prague’s Clam-Gallas Palace. It will run through Sunday, November 5, and features works by more than two hundred artists, ranging from paintings, drawings, and sculptures to glass art, installations, and video projections.

The fair, founded in 2002, has returned to the renovated Baroque Clam-Gallas Palace on Husova Street after a four-year hiatus. Galleries and artists have displayed their works throughout all wings of the first floor, creating a juxtaposition of contemporary art and Baroque architecture.

Participating in this year’s Art Prague are, once again, galleries such as Artinbox, Millennium, Havelka, Gambit, and The Chemistry Gallery. Visitors can also explore works from abroad—whether from Denmark’s Galleri Orange or the French art collective Résonances. Canadian artist David Strauzz, Turkish sculptor Özlem Akin, and Dutch painter of large-format abstracts Julien van Middendorp will all be showcasing their works.
