Julien van Middendorp is a Dutch abstract painter. His large-format oil paintings are infused with vibrant color. His work is distinguished by thoughtfully composed designs and the use of primary colors.
Jules’ style is influenced by the world-renowned art movement “Cobra” (1948–1951) and its members, including Karel Appel, Pierre Alechinsky, and Asger Jorn.
He works with primary colors and a graphic touch, with his paintings reflecting the Dutch artistic movement known as “De Stijl,” founded in 1917 by famous artists such as Piet Mondriaan, Vilmos Huszár, and Theo van Doesburg.
